Starbucks Reserve

In 2010, Starbucks Reserve was created as a premium coffee offering of small batch, single origin coffees. Ben led a dedicated creative team starting in 2015 to fully develop Starbucks Reserve into a sub-brand for Starbucks and to execute the creative expression across packaging, merchandise design, brand partnerships, paper goods, menu systems, in store signage, social media, local marketing and new store launches. Starbucks Reserve launched flagship retail and restaurant experiences including six global Roasteries, Starbucks Reserve Empire State Building, Reserve Bars, Arriviamo Bars and Princi Bakeries.

Starbucks Reserve Empire State Building Flagship Store

In 2022, Starbucks launched a new three level flagship store in the Empire State Building. Ben directed multiple creative teams to design the merchandise, packaging, launch campaign, photography and the visual merchandising direction to include a large scale display installation showcasing a local artist collaboration.

Starbucks Reserve Roasteries

In 2014, Starbucks launched its first Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Seattle. Beyond creating the largest Starbucks stores in the world, the Roasteries were centered around pinnacle coffee experiences, showcasing our art, craft and passion for coffee. Ben’s team created menu systems, paper goods, coffee packaging, visual merchandising seasonal retail presentations and global launch campaigns.

Within the Roasteries a pop in shop was created called “Handpicked for the Roastery.” A retail shop centered on coffee equipment as well as merchandise inspired by the coffee lifestyle which was designed within the Starbucks Creative Studio, including brand collaborations and curated products.
